JOB REQUIREMENTS: Requisition Number 18-1155 Job Title Personnel Scheduler - 2nd Shift Location Hilbert Shift 2nd Job Description SUMMARY Compiles personnel assignment schedules for production department in manufacturing plant by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Each day works with the Production Scheduler and Production Supervisors to determine the amount of staffing required for the next day's production, ensuring all employees have a "value added" assignment. As lines go down, facilitate the early departure of employees according to the guidelines set forth in the employee handbook. Schedulers need to communicate and interact with fellow Schedulers in a positive supportive manor working as a team to accomplish common goals. Schedules employees for the next day's production by referencing the work orders for correct staffing requirements and considering the employee's seniority, skill, and ability to the various line positions. Provide schedule for next day's production to specified supervisors and post daily. Facilitate and coordinate a voluntary lay off if required; staffing needs are less than the number of available employees. Make decisions based on skill level and years of service. Combine job functions when production activities allow (i.e. prep room, material handler, and end of line transfer), and reduce support positions accordingly. Following voluntary lay offs, coordinate any necessary mandatory lay off, following established procedures to ensure staffing does not adversely affect manufacturing variances. Receive telephone calls from employees to inform them of their scheduling status when mandatory layoff is in effect. Ensures accounting accuracy by tracking and adjusting employee's daily clocking into the correct cost center for their line assignment or activity. Also in the time keeping system (ADP): 1. Run an exemption report daily making appropriate adjustments for the following: a. Missed punches d. Track training hours b. Late punches e. Perfect Attendance c. Early in punches Work closely with the Production Supervisors along with HR on a variety of issues and manage the strictly confidential information with the highest integrity and accuracy. Ensure all procedures are consistently done accordingly to established policies and procedures. These include: 1. Employees with work related or non-work related injuries. a. Ensure the proper paperwork and any additional information is given to the appropriate HR Representative. 2. Time off resulting from injury or medical leave (i.e. FMLA, STD, RTW) a. Working with payroll to ensure correct entries are made so as to not adversely affect employee's paycheck 3. Employee attendance records. a. Must keep detailed and clear recordings of absences and early departures. b. Reference the HR department with any questionable occurrences to ensure the correct entry is made and documented. c. Monitors employee attendance. Provides the appropriate supervisor with attendance statistics when the employee reaches disciplinary levels as defined in the employee manual maintaining the highest level of accuracy. Monitor all entries in SAP which include: Vacation days, Personal Days, Personal Hours, Early Departures, Tardiness, Absences, FMLA, Short Term Disability, and Lay offs. Keep accurate and detailed records. Provide employee's attendance statistics whenever they have had recorded absences and put in mail slot. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong computer skills are necessary for this position. Word processing, Internet, Power Point, Excel, e-mail. Familiarity with most types of office equipment.
