DIOCESE OF GREEN BAY Accounting Specialist in GREEN BAY, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description: The Accounting Specialist is involved in all aspects of the day-to-day accounting functions (A/R, A/P, Payroll and general ledger) of the organization; and will be actively involved in the month end closing process by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and budget to actual comparisons. In addition, the Accounting Specialist will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll and preparing related payroll and withholding journal entries and reconciliations. The Accounting Specialist works closely with the Catholic Foundation to assure the accurate processing and accounting for World Missions, national and diocesan collections, and capital campaigns. This individual also generates and analyzes financial reports to be used by organization managers and serves as a resource for their questions. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines while providing accurate work. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications: Bachelor degree in accounting or business or equivalent combination of experience and training required Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for nonprofits preferred Experience with capital campaigns and/or banking a plus Proven knowledge of all federal and state payroll taxation laws, regulations and requirements Experience with computerized accounting systems Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills required Solid organizational and communication skills Exceptional problem solving skills and strong attention to detail.
