JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Shipping and Warehouse Assistant Manager is responsible for creating a superior customer experience (both internally and externally) while fulfilling orders, supervising shipping staff and assisting the Warehouse Manager with maintaining accurate record on current inventories, pending orders, shipments sent/received. Major Duties of Position: Serves as back-up to the Shipping and Warehouse Manager. Enters invoices, inventory and related product data into operations management system in a timely manner. Prepares inventory reports to determine type/quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority. Compares work ticket to order prior to shipping ensuring accuracy. Examines material received, verifies SKU numbers and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked items. Supervises shipping coordinators when the Shipping and Warehouse Manager is not available. Assists in Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of operations. Pulls pallets of stock to maintain individual works areas using proper safety equipment, such as the forklift and pallet jacks); replaces stock with incoming stock the same day of arrival; removes stock that is deemed damaged or obsolete. Uses the standardized shipping methods through approved carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS Smart Post) for customer orders Loads and unloads all incoming deliveries from vendors and parcel carriers. Inspects deliveries for damages, shortages and/or other errors; notifies supervisor when such issues arise. Maintains a clean work area at all times to include, but not limited to, personal workspace and the warehouse. Notifies supervisor of any issues of concern regarding software programs (World Ship, FedEx Caf, Great Plains and Ozlink). Assists with monthly cycle counts of inventory when scheduled with accounting team; assists in yearly physical inventory. Stages all outgoing shipments for LTL carrier pick-ups. Attends staff day annually Assemble or ring all stock that we receive from our vendor, before we ship them out to our customers Process customer and training returns weekly Assist with customer pick-ups Other duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position or as assigned.
