Great FULL TIME opportunity for a Prep Cook only working a flexible 5 days per week schedule. Benefit eligible!

The Prep Cook at Deerwood Crossing is responsible for the efficient output of all production in the food service operation. Duties include but are not limited to cooking, line service, grill cooking, instruction, utility/bussing, safety and sanitation, food service math and other related work place skills.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Ability to read and understand recipes and prepare/put together ingredients for the recipe requirements.
  2. Ability to prep vegetables and fruit for meal and recipe service.
  3. Maintain cleanliness of work area.
  4. Assist with meal preparation.
  5. Provide excellent customer service.
  6. Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.



Core Competencies: 1. Demonstrated knowledge for good knife skills, techniques and methods required by the food service industry. 2. Knowledge of American system of weights and volume and conversions of weights, measurements and sizes as needed. 3. Knowledge of food service safety and sanitation procedures in the food service industry.

Training and Experience: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Minimum of two years of work experience as a cook in a large volume food preparation setting. 3. Quality food preparation skills essential. 4. Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures. 5. Ability to prepare foods from professional recipes.

License or Certificate: 1. ServSafe Food Handlers certificate required...ServSafe Managers certificate preferred.

Physical/Sensory Demands: 1. Ability to use hands to feel and control tools within the kitchen. 2. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. 3. Full range of motion. Must be able to stay on feet for long periods of time. 4. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
