JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 13016 JOB TITLE: Food Service Lead (75%) This position is at the North Point Dining Service location and reports to the Service Manager. This position assists in the maintenance of dining service standards that ensure an enjoyable dining experience for patrons and provide security of dining service operations, areas and assets. These operations include cafeteria meal service and ala cart locations of University Dining Service. Among the standards are efficient, courteous service, proper sanitation procedures, proper use and care of equipment, and the portion control of quality, wholesome, and properly prepared foods according to menu. These standards are maintained through a corps of student employees who receive training and leadership from this position which is provided in cooperation with other classified employees, management, and a team of student managers. 35% A. Maintain high operational standards in the service areas via student employees from diverse cultural backgrounds and other part-time workers 30% B. Assist Student Manager in ensuring preparation and service of wholesome food and beverages high in quality and eye appear 13% C. C-store/Carts/Retail Prep 7% D. Cleaning and maintenance of service areas and equipment in service area 3% E. Ensure proper portion control 3% F. Ensure service of food and beverages on the menu 2% G. Ensure accurate completion of dining area service records 5% H. Be representative of Dining Service and ensure security of Dining Service department and assets 1% I. Increase knowledge and abilities as related to job 1% J. Perform related tasks as assigned by supervisor DEPARTMENT INFORMATION: University Dining Service is a self-operated auxiliary on the UW-Stout Campus with a $10 million budget. The department has three facilities that house and provide services at other location across the campus: Merle Price Commons, North Point Dining and the Memorial Student Center. There are two cafeterias, Commons and North Point, retail outlets in the Student Center, (food court & marketplace) express locations in academic buildings and c-stores in cafeterias. Campus catering and concessions are also functions of this department. The department has 41 permanent staff and over 500 student employees. Some locations operate year-round and others are closed during the summer period. SPECIAL NOTES: Typical shift will be Sunday - 6:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. & Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. Shift will be posted weekly and may vary. This is a school year position that will work during the academic year and be off over the break periods and summer months.
