Bachelor's degree is required.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Required Qualifications:

*One year or more of experience providing professional IT consulting and/or support.

*Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

*Experience providing customer service.

*Experience working independently as well as collaborating in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

*Experience providing professional IT consulting and/or support in a higher education environment.

*Experience supporting Learning Management Systems (LMSes) or other instructional technology systems.

*Experience providing software or technology training to end users.

*Knowledge of both Windows and Mac OS platforms, general hardware and software issues, networking and networked printers, and Active Directory.

*Experience with standard support desk practices, including utilization of ticketing software for incident tracking, wikis for documentation, and other collaborative tools.

*Degree from a discipline in the College of Letters & Science or the School of Education.

Position Summary:

L&S Learning Support Services (LSS) is located in the heart of the UW-Madison campus. We provide information technology facilities, services, and support to students, faculty, and staff in the College of Letters & Science (L&S). LSS is committed to providing the highest levels of service in a collaborative, positive work environment.

As a TechZone/InfoLab Consultant, you will work as a member of the LSS TechZone team providing a wide range of technology support services to the faculty, staff, and students of twenty-four academic units within the College of Letters & Science. Your specific duties will include providing hands-on instructional and technical support to end users, as well as functioning as manager for the LSS InfoLab (part of a campus system of drop-in computer labs for students).
