Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in health administration, biological sciences, social sciences, business or related field. Substantial involvement or familiarity in research or sponsored programs administration either in a sponsoring or recipient organization or the equivalent in a self-funding organization a plus.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

  • Experience preferably in medical, research, or educational setting.

  • Previous experience in research and grant activities a plus.

  • Grant writing experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of NIH and other federal and university regulations for the conduct of research preferred.

Prefix assignment determined by number of years of relevant work experience. A minimum of 7 years of experience is required for appointment at the senior level.

Position Summary:

The Department of Surgery is seeking a Grants Manager to support members of the Department of Surgery and the Department of Urology engaged in sponsored research or other sponsored activities (such as training grants) through professional administrative activities to maintain and build on the vibrant and expanding Surgery and Urology research portfolio.

Additional Information:

  • Must have strong analytical skills and possess the ability to write and communicate effectively.

  • Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft software.

  • Ability and interest in working in a positive team-focused environment.

  • Ability to manage many detailed projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
