Freight Handler

Description

-Responsible for receiving all incoming LTL freight. Must tag and mark all parts visibly and turn in paperwork

-Receive product into inventory

-Responsible for Bin location accuracy

-Responsible for following FIFO

-Unpack stock order and deliver daily receipt of UPS and Fed Ex deliveries.

-Prepare, ship and record daily shipments via UPS and Fed Ex

-Provide the physical and forklift work for freight returns to enterprise suppliers and to other suppliers as needed by inventory control admin.

-Accurately unpack boxes and skids of incoming parts, examine for damage, count and stock in appropriate racks/bins

-Responsible for keeping CNP warehouse organized, parts marked and shelves orderly. This includes the outdoors warehouse items. Make regular checks of inventory outdoors to make sure it is well

marked.

  • Back up Material Handlers when needed.

-Attend all safety, employee and other mandatory meetings

-Follow company policies, guidelines and participate in company programs.

-Daily JSA assessments and submission of forms on a daily basis.

-Participate in yearly physical inventory process and functions.

Qualifications

Critical experience, knowledge, skills and abilities:

-Ability to keyboard, follow safety rules and enforce them with others

-Ability to do simple math, write legibly, read and understand instructions, communicate clearly

-Ability to organize and prioritize time and work

-Ability to operate forklift and be certified under the driver guidelines of Cummins NPower

Physical requirements

-Ability to lift 25-100 lbs and use proper lifting tools and techniques

-Bending, stretching, standing, kneeling, twisting and climbing. Quality/Improvement

-Possess a strong work ethic, the ability to follow instructions and adapt to change

Teamwork

-Ability to maintain a positive attitude, team confidentiality and work as a team member

-Ability to back up team members as needed

-Ability to work overtime as needed, and participate in annual physical inventory activities

-Perform housekeeping and CSE duties.
